The weather is supposed to be glorious this weekend, so I plan on spending as much time outside as possible.  My plans include an outdoor concert, tennis, dinner with friends and reading on my deck with a cold drink in my hand.

I also plan on taking my new flat sandals out for a spin.

I would have taken a picture of my feet in the actual shoes, but as Cher said about her report card in Clueless they’re “not ready yet.”  The remains of my sad looking pedicure need to be removed.  Is it me or can you hear David Bowie singing Fashion?  I have seen that movie way too many times.

My Best Friend’s Wedding  
June 12 – Shoes, Glorious Shoes

I love weddings.   My own wedding was a bit of a blur, but that’s because I couldn’t add two plus two from all the stress.  Anyway, I’ve enjoyed every open bar, crab cake and drunken dancing to Baby Got Back.

So when my best friend called to tell me she got engaged I was over the moon.  Not only am I thrilled that she’s getting married to a wonderful man, but I have a legitimate reason to go shoe shopping!

Of course my choice of footwear is going to depend on the dress I wear and the type of wedding she’s going to have, but I’ve staked out a few possibilities.

Exhibit A:

Red is supposed to be the hot color for fall and these Choos are hard to resist.

Exhibit B:

These seem a like a safe choice, maybe even too safe, but I think it’s hard to go wrong with strappy Manolo Blahniks.

Exhibit C:

Okay, so these Giuseppe Zanotti jeweled sandals are a little bit “Vegas showgirl in the big finale in Jubilee.”  But with a classic black dress these could be the right shoes to dance to the earlier mentioned Sir Mix-a-Lot song.

Of course, I fell on my ass dancing to that exact song at my own wedding (I was wearing Vera Wang satin pumps), so maybe I should limit the footwear to something more manageable.  A few glasses of champagne and a funky beat make a recipe for serious dance floor theatrics.
