Camper Chic
September 1, Mirror, Mirror
Now I realize that the title is an oxymoron. There’s really no way a woman can look chic while camping. But I’m going to try. Well, let’s just put it this way, I’m going to avoid looking like I spent the night in a tent.
My husband was eager to spend time on the Oregon coast for Labor Day weekend and I never say no to the beach, even if it means camping for one night. We are staying in a nice hotel the first night so all is not lost (that’s what I keep telling myself anyway).

Some of the items in my makeup bag |
My priority will be to protect my skin, so I’ll be slathering on Shiseido Sunscreen for Face SPF 55. I am not messing around. This stuff stays put even when I’m in the water but it’s not heavy or greasy. For my body I’m packing Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunblock in SPF 45. I’ll keep the makeup super simple with Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, Shu Uemura eyelash curler, Lancôme Hypnôse mascara and Tarte cheek stain. I’m only going to bother with all this when we have dinner. As for skincare, Dove Facial Cleansing Pillows are the best. They exfoliate gently and my skin feels so soft afterward. I’ve gone back to Kiehl’s lately and I’m using the Ultra Facial Moisturizer. I’m packing long shorts, a tunic, tees and a hoodie or two. Most of all I’m going to bring a good attitude about sleeping under the stars. No, this doesn’t seem at all glamorous, but waking up to the sound of the waves should be glorious.
