GO Paul & Joe
July 31, 2006 | Collections Agent
In my L.A. days, I lived in a small beach community with great shopping. One of my favorite boutiques was way out of my price range, but I loved browsing in there because of the great mix of smaller labels, like Paul and Joe.
Now the French brand is hitting Target stores as the latest GO International line. I know others have blogged about this for some time now, but I have to join the fray because I’m looking forward to getting some of the items in my hands for closer inspection! This collection could be the best so far for Go International. I’ll definitely reserve my judgment until I actually see and feel the clothes, but it looks promising.

Funny how my top picks are black and white. I’m wondering if the bright, feminine prints Paul and Joe is known for will look cheap at lower prices. I have to admit, the flirty/retro/Parisienne look can be a little too precious for me, but it offers fun possibilities when you’re feeling chic in the city.
Update: I checked out the new Paul & Joe collection at Target and it’s a mixed bag. The black & white poppy print shirt is well constructed and very cute. Sadly, there were only two shirts left and neither was my size. These are going like hotcakes.
I didn’t see the kimono sleeve dress but there were a couple of slip dresses that looked like good buys for summer. As I suspected, the silk floral prints and the black silk wrap skirt looked cheap. For prices between $24.99 and $34.99 my expectations shouldn’t be too high.
